A wealthy industrialist is murdered by his wife and an accomplice. For the police it appears to be an accident without any sign of crime being committed. Soon, the inspector finds solace in the arms of two prostitutes while the widow uses her charms to bribe the notary in order to speed up the inheritance of her husband’s property. She wants to quickly start a new life with another wealthy industrialist. But her dream never came true and she soon finds herself in prison with her accomplice. The commissioner and his deputy take advantage of both criminals but are they able to prove their guilt?
