Use your iPhone or iPod Touch as a wireless flash drive and document reader, with support for Windows and Macintosh computers.
FEATURES
- Use the iPhone’s available disk space to carry files and folders.
- View documents, movies and images in many formats.
- Use your iPhone as a shared drive on a wireless network.

- Use SMB (Windows file sharing) with your Windows or Macintosh computer, or choose WebDAV in case of connection problems. Flash Files gives you greater compatibility without the need to install software on a computer.
- Read PDF documents in their original format, or extract the contents of text-based PDFs for faster and more convenient reading on the iPhone. The text extraction is done on the phone, whereas other applications require desktop software.
- Scroll and zoom most document types.
- Manage files on your phone. (Move, rename, or delete files, or create new directories. Multiple selection is supported.)
- Drag files between your device and a computer, just like any other shared drive, or else open files directly on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
- Connect without using a web browser. In most cases, you can connect without typing an IP address or URL. On a Macintosh, find your device in the Finder’s “Shared” list. On Windows, find it in the network neighborhood or just type a Windows drive name that you can configure.
- Protect access to your files: choose from three different security methods (open access, password protection, and a convenient “ask me” mode).
- Optionally prevent the device from sleeping.
- Send files by email.
Why does Flash Files use SMB in addition to WebDAV? SMB is generally faster and more flexible, and it works better with Windows computers (where WebDAV is often broken or difficult to use). WebDAV is a good alternative when for some reason your network environment isn’t compatible with SMB.

REQUIREMENTS
Compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch
Requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later
What’s new
Flash Files now offers a second file sharing method, WebDAV, as an alternative for use in any network environments where the primary method (Windows file sharing, also known as SMB or CIFS) cannot be used effectively. This makes Flash Files even more compatible and offers a backup in case of connection problems.
Macintosh support is improved. (There is a workaround for a problem that can result in a Macintosh error -51 when the network signal is weak or unstable.)
Users can now change the name of the shared folder if necessary.
